2020 has been…well…a year. We’ve all made it to the end of the year, and we’re all eagerly awaiting the start of 2021. With the holigays upon us, we wanted to take a moment to highlight some small queer businesses you should consider supporting this holiday season (and always)!
Shop Queer Gear
The owner of Queer Gear, Sarah, thought “Shouldn't LGBTQ+ clothing be made by LGBTQ+ creators?” and that’s how Queer Gear was born! Shop their must-have pieces perfect for anything from Pride parades to awkward holiday dinners with family and everything in between!
Awarewolf Apparel was created when owner Landon Reed needed some financial help paying for his top surgery. Since then, the brand has blossomed into a community of queer individuals, both those who are loud & proud, and those who are more discreet. Check out their loud queer apparel as well as their more subtle queer apparel.
Fear Her Fight Athletics
Much more than an athletic brand, Fear Her Fight Athletics is for anyone who supports womxn’s rights. It is for those who stand against misogynistic communities, institutional insubordination, and learned racist behaviours, and more. FHF is based on Numunuu (Comanche) and Tonkawa lands referred to as Austin, TX.
Transfigure Print Co
Founded in 2017 by Bailey Sell in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Transfigure Print Co is a print shop specializing in LGBTQ+ inclusive screen printed apparel. They print bulk orders of their own stock, as well as work with other brands to print their designs, and even offer graphic design services!
Black Queer Magic
BlackQueerMagic LLC is the culmination of the creative, professional, and spiritual journey of VBM, LMSW (she/they). As a self taught jeweler, V creates handmade healing crystal and metal stamped pieces with a focus on Black Queer and Trans liberation.
In an effort to supply individuals with washable fabric face masks necessary to get through this pandemic, BlueBonnet Mask creates custom masks for both bulk and small batch orders. BlueBonnet Mask makes wearing a mask fashionable and customizable.
