FLAVNT’s Commitment to Inclusivity - FLAVNT

FLAVNT’s Commitment to Inclusivity

What it means to truly design for everyone in the LGBTQIA+ community — not just market to them.

Inclusivity isn’t a marketing angle at FLAVNT. It’s the foundation we built our brand on. From day one, we’ve believed that clothes — especially gender-affirming ones — should be accessible, wearable, and affirming for people across the entire queer and trans spectrum.

And while a lot of companies throw around the word inclusive, we believe it’s more than slapping a rainbow on a tee and calling it allyship. It’s in the sizing. The messaging. The models. The mission. Here’s how we’re making it real — and where we know we can keep pushing further.

Inclusive Sizing, Without Apology

Many mainstream LGBTQ+ fashion brands still cap their sizing at XL or 2X — if they even offer that. That’s not good enough.

At FLAVNT:

  • Our apparel runs from XS to 5X

  • Our Bareskin Binders are available in XXS to 4X, designed to accommodate a variety of body types and chest sizes

  • We photograph all sizes — not just the smallest — in real product shots

Because queer bodies are not one-size-fits-all, and we won’t pretend they are.

Designing for Real People — Not Gender Norms

We don’t believe in “men’s” and “women’s” clothing. Our pieces are created with genderless fits that focus on comfort, confidence, and self-expression. That means:

  • Tees with relaxed, wearable silhouettes (not overly boxy or tight)

  • Embroidered hats and accessories that anyone can rock

  • Sizing guides that use actual body measurements, not assumptions

We also design with transmasc and nonbinary folks in mind, especially when it comes to our binders and tops. Our “Pretty Boy” tee, “Be Who You Needed” design, and “Gender Roles Are Dead” tee were all created to reflect how our community sees and defines itself — not how society tries to box us in.

Skin Tone Options That Actually Reflect Real Skin

One of the most powerful steps we took toward inclusivity was offering our Bareskin Binders in seven shades:

  • Birch

  • Bone

  • Rose

  • Sand

  • Copper

  • Umber

  • Onyx

These colors weren’t selected at random. They were chosen based on community feedback and actual swatches of human skin — so trans folks could access stealth binders that matched them, not some outdated beige standard.

In an industry where “nude” often just means “light tan,” we’re proud to offer options that feel more inclusive — especially for Black, Brown, and Indigenous trans folks.

Real Models. Real Bodies. Real Stories.

Our community isn’t a marketing campaign — it’s our family. We shoot real customers and friends of the brand, often people with no modeling experience, because that’s what feels honest and human.

We love other queer brands doing the same — like Rebirth Garments’ focus on disability inclusion, or Origami Customs’ commitment to made-to-measure. But where some brands use identity as an aesthetic, we root it in relationship and representation.

Financial Accessibility and Giving Back

Inclusivity isn’t just about who gets to wear the clothes — it’s about who can afford to. That’s why we:

  • Price our gear as affordably as possible without compromising quality

  • Run community-funded campaigns for organizations that aid the LGBTQIA2S+ community

  • Offer free binder giveaways and flash sales during key times of the year

  • Have supported dozens of trans individuals with thousands of dollars in donations for surgery and healthcare needs

When you shop FLAVNT, you’re not just buying a shirt. You’re funding someone’s healing, joy, and transition.

What Inclusivity Looks Like — And What It Doesn’t

We don’t drop “ally collections” once a year and call it activism. We don’t upcharge for extended sizes. We don’t use queer buzzwords to bait engagement while ignoring the community the rest of the year.

We do:

  • Listen to feedback and make design changes accordingly

  • Take accountability when we miss the mark

  • Keep showing up — even when it’s not trendy

Inclusivity Is a Practice, Not a Buzzword

We’re not perfect. But we’re committed. Inclusivity at FLAVNT is about being intentional, responsive, and community-led — every step of the way.

We’ll keep growing, keep learning, and keep creating clothing that meets people where they are — and celebrates where they’re going.

Thanks for helping us build something that’s not just for the queer community — it is the queer community.
